  8. Fortunately! He has two best friends, Loo Kien and Raja They have just taken the 1Citizen program and is quite literate with the technology.

  9. They may be all the way in Malaysia, but thanks to technology, they were able to chat and discuss about the situation.

  10. Loo Kien, who is a Computer Technician, told Afiq how to use the internet safely and appropriately.

  11. Afiq, when using the internet you must remember these 2 things which are: • E-rule • E-safety

E-safety stresses on internet dangers such as: • Identity theft • Phishing emails • Hackers & Crackers • Cyber stalking • Cyber bullying • Internet predators • You must use the internet ethically to avoid these threats, for example: • Never download pirated software • Don’t store personal files in a shared storage • Don’t send spam emails • If not, the consequences might be: • Breach in security • Increased software piracy • An overwhelmed bandwidth

  13. E- rule explains about cyber crimes, for instance: • Internet banking fraud • Harassment • Intellectual Property Infringement • The effects of these crimes are: • Reduced productivity • Loss of profit • Hence, avoid these crimes and follow the rules!

  14. Raja, on the other hand, is a doctor and gave some advice to Afiq on how to take care of his health when using the laptop.

  15. Afiq, when using the laptop always remember to apply ergonomics which focuses on health and productivity.

Some examples of an ergonomic • lifestyle are: • Don’t sit in a stiff manner for too long • Take short breaks frequently when using the laptop • Make sure the lighting is suitable • If you don’t follow these example, • you might end up with: • Back pain • Eye strain • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome • Repetitive Stress Injuries.

  17. Remember to always take care of your health, use chairs like these to be safe!

  18. Now, Afiq is able to use his laptop wisely.

  19. This will help him become the best lawyer he can be. All thanks to his friends back in Malaysia.

  20. They may have come from different backgrounds, but technology has helped them unite their diversities.

  21. Unite to become better citizens and netizens of Malaysia.
