  21. User Management: Groups Editing • Groups are NOT like Windows Groups • Uses as a convenience to establish common permission sets • Users are assigned the permissions in a group – the user can then be edited without effecting the group Administrative Training

  22. User Management: Workstations • Configures video displays that are physically associated with a workstation • Used for video switching Administrative Training

  23. CCTV: Cameras • Add cameras to the system • Provide attributes about the device Administrative Training

  24. CCTV: Cameras with Encoders • Snapshots may be requested from cameras • Cameras attached to an encoder must provide encoder information Administrative Training

  25. CCTV: Video Sources • Video sources (encoders) can be defined so that the software can “switch” the source to a destination • Only specific encoders are supported (the software uses SNMP to communicate to the encoder) Administrative Training

  26. CCTV: Video Destinations • Video destinations (decoders) can be defined so that the software can “switch” sources to the destination • Only specific decoders are supported (the software uses SNMP to communicate to the encoder) Administrative Training

  27. Data Archive: Properties • Configure archiving parameters for selected systems • Frequency of updates, directory for files Administrative Training

  28. DMS: Signs • Add DMS devices to the system • Attributes vary widely based on protocol and connection type Note: Only Trailblazers use SunGuide protocol Administrative Training

  29. DMS: Approved Word List • DMS checks against the “Approved Word List” when messages are to be displayed (not when they are queued) • Operators (with permission) may override spelling errors Administrative Training

  30. DMS: Proportional Fonts • Optional – NOT required to be used • Different font for each sign can be specified • Specify “defaults” • Enter characters that do not use the “defaults” Administrative Training

  31. HAR: Radios • Add HAR devices to the system • Attributes vary widely based on protocol and connection type Administrative Training

  32. Incident Management: Abbreviations • Abbreviations can be applied by IM when message is too large for sign (configuration setting) • Word substitutions performed by priority • Priority 1 applied first, then 2 if necessary, etc. Administrative Training

  33. Incident Management: Message Templates • Configure message layout for incident responses • Add items to message using links at right • Select items and use arrow buttons to change order • Sample layout displayed at top of display Administrative Training

  34. Incident Management: Contacts • Contacts are available to the operator managing an event • Each contact has their own notification subscriptions Administrative Training

  35. Inventory / Maintenance: Equipment • Add items to IMS database • Entries are edited inline in tables • When associated with field equipment, items move to lower table Administrative Training

  36. Inventory / Maintenance: Locations • Add IMS locations to database • Used to indicate location of equipment not installed in field locations • Repair sites, warehouses, etc. Administrative Training

  37. Inventory / Maintenance: Vendors • Update list of vendors and contacts used by IMS • Most fields in vendor screen refer to particular contacts of the vendor • Not related to IM contacts Administrative Training

  38. Ramp Meter: Controllers • Add Ramp Meter Controllers (RMC) to the system • Attributes vary based on protocol and connection type Administrative Training

  39. Ramp Meter: Fuzzy Parameters • Specify fuzzy logic algorithm parameters for each RMC Administrative Training

  40. Ramp Meter: Fuzzy Lanes • Select TSS lanes to use in fuzzy logic calculations • Each RMC has several lane type Administrative Training

  41. Ramp Meter: Special Events • Define and schedule special events • Used to specify ramp metering algorithm timing Administrative Training

  42. Ramp Meter: Groups • Defines groups of RMCs which can be sent some commands at once Administrative Training

  43. RWIS: Stations • Add RWIS stations to the system • Attributes vary based on protocol and connection type Administrative Training

  44. Safety Barrier: Stations • Add barrier stations to the system • Attributes vary based on protocol and connection type Administrative Training

  45. TSS: Roadways • Roadways must be defined to associate equipment and events with highway infrastructure • Directions and cross streets are established for each roadway (incident management response plans require this information) Administrative Training

  46. TSS: Detectors • Adding instrumented highway segments requires detectors / links / lanes to be configured • A detector may have multiple links • Links may have multiple lanes • After the detectors / links / lanes are added, the map must be updated to display them (Link Editor) Administrative Training

  47. TSS: Detectors • Add TSS detectors to the system • Provide attributes about the device (multiple protocols supported) Administrative Training

  48. TSS: Detector Maps • Adding Detector Maps to the system: this maps “regions” or “zones” from the detector to specific SunGuideSM data elements • Detailed layout of the physical detector deployment must be available Administrative Training

  49. TSS: Detector Maps - continued • Links are added first • A link may have multiple lanes; this is used for visual rendering on the map as well as alarms • The speed for a link is determined by averaging lane speeds Administrative Training

  50. TSS: Alarm Thresholds • Alarm thresholds are used by TSS to determine when anomalous traffic conditions have occurred • Each TSS link may have multiple thresholds Administrative Training
