High Performance Grid forESA-TSG-VDC, NoE-PSAS, INTAS and USM-FGR partners • Expression of interest: a research and training High Performance Grid for: • ESA consortium: Theoretical support group: “vibrational dynamics & control ” • NoE-”Physical Sciences and Applications in Space” (PSAS), • INTAS consortium • Research-training network French-German-Russian (USM-FGR) • Thematic domains: • Physics, Physico-chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Mechanics, Numerical Simulation, Modeling, Computer science, etc.. • Academic Partners: • EU (France, Germany, Belgium, Italy) and Russia (Moscow, Perm, Nizhni-Novgorod, Novosibirsk) • Actual environment and expertise : • Major local cluster: 25bi-pro AMD1800+, 1GB RAM, Gigabit & SCI/Scali network, gigabit regional network in 2004. The aim : Wide Scalable use of NICT Shared working environment : Distributed customized “nomad” PhDs, postdocs and seniors Distributed computer means access, numerical & graphical results data bases and experimental data bases access. Grey Library. Metagraphics : Shared experimental events with specialists Distributed post graphical results of parallel codes. Metacomputing : Scalable // computing grid for Mechanics, based on powerfull low-cost machines, recording the best communication/computing ratio. The needs: Participate to an IST call-for-proposal, for: High performance computing and networking end-user testbed in the field of science in space, to be delivered to a part of end-users of our community (10 towns, 5 countries). Access to GEANT European high speed electronic network for all partners in different countries. Upgrade of high performance computer and network equipments for partners, to build a quasi-homogeneous park.
