  5. Vain Worship Vain Worship Today • Anything other than the acts of worship specifically authorized in the N.T. • Add anything not authorized in the N.T. • Take away anything authorized by the N.T. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth”

  7. God is Object of Worship Ps. 100:3 “Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Ps. 18:3 “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.”

Worship Him in Truth Regulated by the Word of God Jn. 17:17 “Thy word is truth” Col. 3:17 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” 1 Cor. 4:6 We must not “go beyond that which has been written” 2 Jn. 9 “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God”
