Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) • Recognition program for LHDs and regions focused on all-hazards preparedness planning, workforce capacity development, and demonstration of readiness through exercises or real-life responses • 158 LHDs have been recognized since 2004 (96 as part of a region) • State-wide PPHR recognition underway: Florida, Colorado, Virginia, and Arizona

Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) • Co-hosts regional and national workshops with CDC/DSNS and ASTHO bringing together local/state/tribal SNS Coordinators and other partners to network and share successful practices and tools/resources • Collects, disseminates, and provides a portal for sharing SNS tools/resources • Identify gaps and barriers • STOCKbox- available at www.naccho.org/stockbox

Medical Reserve Corps • Cooperative Agreement with the OSG Office of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps in place since 2006 • Raise the visibility of the MRC nationwide • Strengthen the connection with local public health departments • Build local infrastructure through CBAs • Create resources and tools to strengthen the MRC workforce at the local, regional, state, and national level.

Pandemic Influenza Communication • To improve communication capacity in LHDs for pandemic influenza and other public health emergencies. • To explore communication and information networks in 3 LHDs used to engage partners and facilitate information exchange between local, state, and federal partners during a pandemic or other public health emergency.

Other NACCHO Projects • Public Health Infrastructure and Systems • Create tools to help build local health department (LHD) infrastructure and systems, collect, analyze, and disseminate knowledge and insights from demonstration and pilot sites, and conduct research to better inform public policy and to identify needs to strengthen LHD infrastructure • Programs • Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) • A community-driven strategic planning tool for improving community health. Facilitated by public health leaders, this tool helps communities apply strategic thinking to prioritize public health issues and identify resources for addressing them.  • Health Equity and Social Justice • Workforce Development and Training • Performance Standards
