  1. War and Peace poem By: The Grade 6 Classes

  2. War is…

  3. Explosions in the air as the men of war rush to battle; the hate and war that has spread brings a stench of fear.

  4. The ones who were forced to battle are remembered by the gentle world as they hang their heads in sorrow.

  5. Bullets surge over head as the soaked, muddy, pain-filled soldiers sprint for cover in the deadly trenches.

  6. Rubble shattered like glass all over a city like Libya.

  7. The crystal tears of loss run down swiftly from the cloud of despair as another life is stolen.

  8. The sound of guns being fired and bullets screaming through the smoke-filled sky.

  9. Spitfire planes soaring above the ruined cities.

  10. Some soldiers perish for their country, while others carry the wounds of war with them always.

  11. A dark silent abyss, where you are waiting for destruction to come your way, and you have nothing to do but weep.

  12. Distressed and booming battlefields are where countries fight and destroy their enemies.

  13. Losing thousands of men in a blink of an eye.

  14. A piercing pain hitting you and knocking you to the ground.

  15. Body freezing, powerlessness, terror, everything is going out of control. You are unable to stop it.

  16. You hear a big bang but in your mind it sounds like an orchestra. An instant and agonizing pain like a bear clawing at your body with no hesitation.

  17. We’re all powerless with broken hearts, weeping for help and strength to win the war.

  18. I stand still, frozen in time, watching with dismay my friends collapsing to the ground.

  19. I stand shivering, looking at where I was born. It stands no more. People are scattered all around me. My friends and family are unable to move, comfort, and protect me.

  20. War decays on harsh summer days and battle cries shut their eyes.

  21. People are fighting with bombs and guns trying to get their freedom.

  22. Looks of hope, families waving goodbye, dreams not realized.

  23. A force that pounds you down to the ground, the ones who you love cry because they feel depressed, hearts are broken and angry.

  24. A dark shadow that covers you with sadness.

  25. A power that pulls you down and steals the people that you love.

  26. Peace is…

  27. Gentle nurses comforting wounded soldiers and bringing laughter to their hearts once again.

  28. Courageous soldiers receiving uplifting letters from their loved ones brings smiles to their faces.

  29. If angry people around this big beautiful world agreed to stop fighting, our universe would be much more peaceful.

  30. Soldiers rejoicing upon hearing the news that war is over and thrilled to be soon reunited with their families.

  31. I will never forget the day that I roamed in Flanders Field, looking for peace to carry home in my heart.

  32. The soothing melodies of the Earth calm my soul.

  33. Tears of joy stream down her cheeks as her husband returns from war, pushing the sadness away.

  34. The prayers of families echo off the walls of heaven, making life captivating again.

  35. At the end of the war the hopeful world welcomed peace, freedom, and happiness with open hearts.

  36. Doves gliding silently over the beautiful town spreading love to all.

  37. Remarkable friends always watching over you through good times and bad times.

  38. Roaming through Flanders Fields picking poppies as I kneel.

  39. The piercing cheers of the families reuniting fill the air as children sprint into the open arms of their parents.

  40. Faces filled with hope when the tragedy of war is over.

  41. Soft snowflakes covered the village giving a warm tickle to the children playing.

  42. A cold evening in December, with the sun slipping away, the shadows growing longer, the light fading. Another ending, no more pain.

  43. I stand in the quiet, calm forest with delicate snow slowly drifting around my body.

  44. The warm wind blew tears away bringing smiles to children's faces and peace to their souls

  45. Children running freely into the sunlight knowing that they will be able to play without the horrible sound of gunfire .
