Two workshops • 6 February 2013 • Visit to BFI National Archive in Berkhamstead • 6 March 2013 • Visit to BFI Mediatheque, Quad Cinema in Derby
Aims • Workshop 1 (with BFI staff) • To familiarise participants with the various moving image and other collections stored at the BFI National Archive and how these can be accessed, researched and used in the Major Project (English Gothic) Workshop 2 (with programming/educational staff at Quad) • To achieve awareness of how programmes of archive film are curated and delivered in the public domain – in cinemas, BFI Mediatheques and across the web. To discover how archive film works across various exhibition platforms and what can be achieved.
Major ProjectMarch- Mid July 2013 • To source, research and produce materials for a major BFI project on • the English Gothic in cinema. • To include working with films, posters and advertising materials, cinema ephemera, reviews and critique etc
Major ProjectDelivery and assessment –end of July 2013 • Possible outcomes include: • Curated film programmes of moving image for cinemas and mediathequesacross the UK • Written material; reviews and information for BFI Screenonline and other web platforms • Website/s • Visual material curated for exhibitions • Educational materials for use in schools
