  2. How to use the matrix • This matrix is intended to inform your communications strategy with regard to your stakeholder groups, used in conjunction with the stakeholder map template also included in the UCCD toolkit. • The stakeholder map template encourages you to rate stakeholders’ interest in and influence on the dashboard project as high, medium or low. This matrix has 9 cells so that stakeholders can be placed appropriately (so a stakeholder/group with high interest and high influence would be placed at top right on the matrix). • The matrix also suggests an appropriate method and level of communication for stakeholders – so you would be likely to need at least some face-to-face meetings with the high interest and influence group, in order to secure and maintain their support. • Stakeholders’ levels of interest – and influence – may change depending on where you are in the project. It’s worth revisiting your matrix occasionally to make sure that your communications efforts are still being directed appropriately. • (NB: This matrix should act as a quick pictorial guide, not become an industry in its own right!)
