  2. Heat always moves from a warmer place to a cooler place. Heat Transfer Heat will continue to move until an equilibrium is reached.

  3. Heat transfers in three ways: • Conduction • Convection • Radiation Heat Transfer Methods

  4. When heat is transferred through direct contact this is CONDUCTION

  5. Warmer liquids and gases rise up. Cooler liquids and gases sink. This exchanging of places between particles of different temperatures creates a current and this is know as convection.

  6. Heat energy from the Sun is RADIATION There are no particles between the Sun and the Earth so heat CANNOT travel by conduction or by convection.
