The Strategic Planning Workshop held from January 13-15, 2009, at Low Wood Hotel, Ambleside, provided valuable insights on external risks and opportunities in a changing economic landscape. Led by Professor Paul Wellings, Vice-Chancellor, discussions focused on emerging trends such as the digital economy, environmental technologies, and education services. Critical issues addressed included research performance, student experience, international opportunities, and institutional sustainability. The workshop concluded with a roadmap for future targets and challenges, culminating in a new strategy to be released in September 2009.
