Black’s Law Dictionary: “Law in its generic sense, is a body of rules of action or conduct prescribed by controlling authority, and having binding legal force.” Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary: “A binding custom or practice of a community. A rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority.”

  3. What is “Justice”? Black’s Law Dictionary: “Proper administration of laws. In Jurisprudence the constant and perpetual disposition of legal matters or disputes to render every man his due.” Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary: “The maintenance or administration of what is just, esp. by impartial adjustment of conflicting claims or the assignment of merited rewards or punishments.”

  4. What do we mean by “Just”? Merriam Webster’s: “Acting or being in conformity with what is morally upright or good. Being what is merited, deserved. Having a basis in or conforming to fact or reason.” Black’s Law Dictionary “Conforming to or consonant with what is legal or lawful; legally right; lawful”
