Discovering Pegasus: The Legendary Winged Horse of Greek Mythology

Pegasus is a remarkable white winged horse, the only flying horse in Greek mythology. He was born from the blood of Medusa when Perseus cut off her head and is the offspring of Poseidon. The legendary hero Bellerophon initially tamed Pegasus with a golden bridle given by Athena to battle the Chimera. However, after angering the gods by riding Pegasus to Mount Olympus, Bellerophon was thrown off and fell to Earth. Pegasus remains a symbol of divine inspiration and poetic genius in mythology.
