  2. Who am I? • Start writing in LaTeX since September 2000. • Documents written in LaTeX, including: • Thesis (M.Phil & Ph.D); • All research paper; • A few of my lecture notes; • Countless assignment specifications, etc. • Using LaTeX mostly in Linux and Mac OS. IPL - LaTeX Advanced

What have you got? • Every PC in the user area has the tools called: PCTeX. • We will stick with it for the coming 3 hours. • How good is it? • An integrated environment. • On-the-fly command suggestion. • How bad is it? • Not available for free! • An open source alternative: TexWorks.   4. Starting PC & PCTeX • Choose ENGLISH Windows. • Do you remember your PC LAN login and password? • Don’t worry! Our colleague will help! • Now visit the following link: • http://www.cse.cuhk.edu.hk/~tywong/latex_adv/ • Download the files labeled [ZIP]and [PDF] to D: (or D drive) of your computer.
