  2. What’s Football? Football is a sport that is played all around the world. Its very simple, the main rule is you have to score by kicking the ball into the opponent's net.

Where did it originate? • The Romans and Greeks used to play a sport similar to football because they used their feet and they sometimes kicked the ball. • Then it is also said that it came from the Chinese, it was for military practice as they had to kick a ball into a target while being attacked by opponents. • But the actual game itself, with rules was created in England around 1860’s

  4. Football as a national sport. • About 60 countries have football as their national sport. It is a national sport in: Central America South America Western Europe South east Asia Middle East And some countries of Africa

Football around the world 1)Football became really popular around the world because it is a really simple sport and it is very cheap, you do not have to buy a lot of stuff to play it, only a ball and you can make your own goals. Of course, if you are a professional player then it is more expensive because you have to have the special football shoes (cleats), and the shin pads and more.

  6. 2) The second reason Is that it’s a team sport and that it shows how to work together as a team to win. “ the passing team will always win”. If you do not pass the ball then it not probable that you will win.

  7. 3) It is fun to watch, there is a lot of action, and so you don’t get bored that easily watching it.

Different ways of playing • There are different ways of playing football: • For example Italy has more of a defensive team while Argentina or brazil play more of an attack • Also, Argentina and Brazil play with creative style, based on individual players.( like Lionel Messi, Maradona, Robinho ,Ronahldinho and Pele) • Some countries in Europe ( like Netherlands or Norway) play it more as a team, but there aren’t as outstanding individual players as the listed above.
