  7. Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh Robert C O’Brien Statement - Quotation - Refer back to quotation Using Quotations - Remember: Make a statement about the text. Quote the text to support your statement. Then refer back to your quotation to show how the author has achieved this effect. E.g. Mrs Frisby is very brave, she is not foolish though. When Jeremy tells her that flying is perfectly safe, she thinks to herself, “Yes … but you’re not riding on your back, and you can’t fall off.” By showing Mrs Frisby’s thoughts here, the author not only shows how brave and clever Mrs Frisby is, he also increases the tension by emphasising how dangerous this journey would be for a little mouse.
