  2. 2010-2011 Session • First session of the 2010 framework • First session of the error tolerance marking approach

  3. Error Tolerance • New approach has brought challenges - as any new system will • Key to success is to keep detailed IV records of the approach that your centre has taken • This ensures that centre’s decisions are consistent and traceable

  4. EV Visits • Not a lot of EV visiting activity • Team concentrated on Central Verification • Quite a lot of activity behind the scenes in vetting exemplars and Prior Verification

  5. QA Pilot • New approach to External Verification • Pilot running with 10 centres 2012-13 • Rolled out from 2013 • Focus on risk

  6. Overseas and Rest of UK • Some centres overseas running with Accounting and Finance Units • EV team need to ensure standards maintained across ALL centres • New QA approach applies to overseas centres • More centres in England

  7. Central Verification – June 2012 • Central verification for Graded Units 1 and 3 only • Central verification in June will involve more centres this year for the 2010 frameworks: • centres delivering HNC for first time • centres delivering 2nd year of HND

  8. Visiting Verification – GU2 • Planned to take place after Easter break • If your centre is ready for a visit earlier than that let us know
