This workshop discusses the integration of hands-on science labs in distance education, addressing critical issues such as student engagement, learning outcomes, and safety challenges in home lab environments. It examines whether students achieve the same learning outcomes in virtual labs compared to traditional settings, and gathers insights on student perceptions. Various commercial and "home-brewed" lab kits are explored, alongside proposed solutions for effective home lab experiences. By utilizing professional home science kits and structured hybrid approaches, we can enhance learning in non-science and science majors alike.
