  2. Institute of Informatics of TUT • 34academical persons: 25 instructors and 9 researches, • Average age 45 years. • Technical staff - 8 persons

Department of Informatics provides instruction in informatics within the framework of: Bachelor (B) and Master (M) level –Informatics(admission per year B - 130, M – 80 students) Bachelor and Master level -Business information technology (admission per year B – 70, M – 30) Master level (with Tartu University) - Software Engineering (in English) (admission per year 30) Doctoral stage of specialty of informatics (admission per year 10).

  4. Course “Web services and intenet solutions” The goals of the course are: to familiarize the participants with the concept of Web services and System Integration Techniques from a business and technical perspective, to illustrate the details related to building web services and service oriented solutions from the perspective of a developer.

  5. Industry and academia cooperation during the course In the preparing the course one of the leaders of the Estonian IT industry – Webmedia AS was in leading role. Additionally Ericsson Eesti AS was involved in practical part of the course. The enviroment of the course was very close to the industry settings: SVN – subversion was used for communication. SVN - centralized version control system is characterized by its reliability as a safe environment for software development.

  7. Course results course receives positive feedback from students retention rates measure was very high Retention rates measure the number of first-time students enrolled in a course who remain at the school the following year.
