Empowering Youth: Strengthening Trade Unions and Reproductive Health Initiatives Across Asia

The Youth Employment Network (YEN) is dedicated to empowering young communities in the Philippines, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Indonesia, and South Korea. We focus on establishing youth committees, providing vocational and skills training, and creating platforms for reproductive health education. Through partnerships, we enhance knowledge on labor standards and promote entrepreneurial training for displaced unionists. We invite collaboration with trade unions to assist in forming youth committees and to advocate for national action plans to secure the future of youth in the labor market.

  2. 1. Youth structure • Youth committee (Indonesia, Vanuatu, Philippines) • Reproductive health peer group for youth (Philippines)

Youth programs • Vocational & skills training (Indonesia) • Philippines • TUCP/ILO youth project provides training on entreprenenrship • Reproductive health program : TUCP gives access to information and service on Reproductive health for youth • TUCP refers displaced trade unionist to public employment service office for new jobs. • TUCP conduct training on core labor standards, occupational safety and health and basic trade unionism.

  4. 3. Role of YEN • Linkage & strengthening for trade unions. • Provision of assistance in setting up youth committee in Vietnam, Korea. • Provision of in-depth knowledge on yen and its programs.

  5. 4. How would you like to work with YEN? • Korea and Vietnam need assistance in designing youth committee.

  6. 5. What TUs can do for YEN? • Share information / tools available

  7. 6. Role of TU • Push Govt. to be a lead country. • If Govt. is already a lead country, help Govt. ensure/create national action plan its implementation.
