KAS Scholarships Program • Currently we provide financial support for about 2,000 students. • An extensive seminar program is part of the numerous activities offered to our stipend holders. • The scholarships are open to (1.) young German students, journalists and graduate students as well as to (2.) young graduate students from abroad who want to study in Germany (young beeing defined as not older than 30 years). • More than 10.000 alumni worldwide are keeping in touch with each other and with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. They are organized in 50 local groups in Germany and abroad. • Foreign alumni have formed groups in several countries, incl. Korea. Dr. Colin Dürkop, KAS Korea & Japan

KAVKAS • In Korea, KAS Alumni have formed the • Koranischer Altstipendiaten Verein der Konrad Adenauer Stiftung • or “KAVKAS” (Korean Alumni Association of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation) • about 200 Alumni • mostly University Professors • Legal Studies • German Studies • Technical Fields • Economics and Social Sciences Dr. Colin Dürkop, KAS Korea & Japan

Prerequisites for Applications • The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung awards scholarships to students and graduates of „exceptional academic achievement and outstanding political or social commitment“. • i.e. good marks • Intermediate knowledge of German language • some sort of political and/or social engagement Dr. Colin Dürkop, KAS Korea & Japan
