  2. We have developed a new club template based on Word Press for clubs in District 1250 that is much easier to use than the RIBI Template. Several clubs are in the process of placing their websites on this platform The template is designed for clubs who have limited web abilities and want something that is easy to setup and maintain.

  3. Advantages • Can be supported remotely by the District webmaster. • Online 1:1 training from District webmaster. • Currently no charge for using the template or the webspace.

  4. Reigate – a template site The welcome page sets the scene and the location of the club and leads into the subsequent pages.

  5. Reigate – a template site In the local what we do section the club can give a concise view of what its gets up to. On the same dropdown there are links to District, RIBI and RI as well as notes on what to do about joining Rotary.

  6. Reigate – a template site Recent events allows for a range of photo to be displayed, use of words is a a minimum allowing the pictures to speak for themselves.

  7. Reigate – a template site The contact us drop down contains everything that is needed about regular meetings.

  8. Reigate – a template site The club magazine fits easily into the Latest News & Events drop down box so that people can review in more detail what has occurred

  9. What makes a good website • Timeliness – articles need to be up to date • Information that people generally want like meeting venue, contact information etc… need to be obviously positioned • More pictures – less words. • Make it like a shop window.

  10. What makes a bad website • Old information • Key information that you can’t find • Links that don’t work • Overpowering colour schemes • Too much text

  11. Linkages • If you have Facebook or Twitter for your club link it back to your website. • Make it easy for people to interact over social media from your site. • Put links in to other local Rotary club sites and other organisations that your club supports

  12. Conclusion • Choose the website that suits you best • RIBI Template • District Template • Build your own • Keep it up to date and relevant. • Don’t use words when a picture would do.
