GUI Development for EQMF Middleware Framework: A Comprehensive Proposal

  1. Thesis Project Proposal Thesis Project Proposal, The task will be to design and build a GUI to Nomuras middleware framework. The implementation should be able to read old files and check them for consistency and also to start up new settings. It is also desired that the system has some form of didactic function.

  2. Objective The objective of this document is to propose a project that is suitable for a Master’s student in Computer Science, to be carried out at Nomura Sweden AB (Nomura). The project must be wide enough in scope to be suitable for a Bachelor or Master’s thesis, and at the same time something that can realistically be carried out in the allotted time period of either 10 or 20 weeks. Background Lehman Brothers had a widely used middleware wrapping system called EQMF (Equities Messaging Framework). The system was developed in US and has now spread thru all the regions. The framework has been changed and adopted by a lot of different persons. There exist not a single group to which a developer could ask questions. Since EQMF was widely used in Lehman (and therefore now also in Nomura), the need for a tool to help developers to create EQMF based systems is now great. Proposal Build a tool that can analyze an existing eqmf configuration file. The system should be helpful in the way that the user should receive suggestions on what he/she need to add what consequences that will have. The tool might be developed to work as a plug-in to Eclipse.
