Understanding the Nervous System: Functions, Parts, and Health
The nervous system plays a crucial role in controlling body organs and tissues through motor functions. Key parts include the brain, which serves as the control center, the cerebrum for thinking and voluntary movements, the cerebellum for balance and coordination, and the brainstem for involuntary movements like breathing. It interacts with all body systems, influencing processes like heart rate and respiration. Common diseases affecting the nervous system include concussions and nerve damage. Fun fact: it can transmit signals at 100 meters per second!

Function of the system • The main function of the Nervous System is Body Organs and Tissues along motor nervous.
Main Parts • Brain-control center • Cerebrum-Thinking/voluntary movements
Main Parts • Cerebellum-Balances/coordination • Brainstem-Involuntary movements/Breathing
How does my system work with other system? • It effects all your system. For example your nervous system controls your breathing.
Diseases • Concussion • Paralyzed • Damaged nerve endings
Environment • When it is cold your nerves tell your heart to beat faster to bring heat to your body.
Fun Facts • Nervous system controls thinking and breathing. • Without your nervous system you’d be dead. • Nervous can carry signals at 100 meter peer second.
