Needs Assessment: The instructional/training problem opportunity • The problem is that the teachers and paraprofessional are not that knowledgeable when it comes to technology. Some teachers and paraprofessional know very little or don’t know anything about technology.
The analysis of the gap between what is available and what should be available. • Our campus has state-of –the –art computer lab and the teachers and paraprofessional don’t have time to use the computer lab because they have to concentrate on other important things like the TAKS test. This training will help the teachers and paraprofessional us technology more for instruction in their classrooms as part of their lessons.
The recommended solution for filling the gap. • The training will show the teachers and paraprofessional how to download the Photo Story 3 to their computer or lab top. It will show them how to create slide by slide and what to add to each slide.
Instructional Goal: After completing the training the teacher and paraprofessional will know how to use Microsoft Photo Story 3, and will also be able to create an outstanding digital story that includes pictures, audio narration, and music for the background of each slide.
Performance Objectives: After completing the training module (CN), teachers and paraprofessional will be able to perform the following tasks without any errors (CR) • Input images into the Photo Story time line (B) • Add text to each slide (B) • Add audio narration (B) • Add music narration (B) • Save the digital story into the appropriate format on a web browser (B)
Assessment of Learning Outcomes: Performance Objective Assessment 1. When importing the picture to the slide what do you click on to import the picture? Picture Next Import Picture 2. When adding text to the slide what do you click to type? Text Next new story • Input images into the Photo Story time line (B) • Add text to each slide (B)

Learner Characteristics: • The target audiences will teachers and paraprofessional from the campus that I work. Some of the teachers and paraprofessional have no knowledge or very little knowledge about technology. • The teachers and paraprofessional will need to know how to login into the internet and download the program to their computer or lab top. • It is very important the all teachers and paraprofessional have some knowledge about technology because there are many fun activities that they can create to so that the students can have fun and learn better. • They will also need to know how to be able to follow step by step instruction in order to create their own story.
Learning Context: • The training will show the teachers and paraprofessional how to download the Photo Story 3 to their computer or lab top. It will show them how to create slide by slide and what to add to each slide. They will learn how to type or add narration to the title of the first slide and to each of the other slides. They will learn how to select the picture or digital photo from the clip art or from their own pictures. They will learn how to add music to the background of each slide. They will also be able to add transition and effects to each of the slides. They will learn how to save the project and how to view the complete project. They will be able to view the project from the Window Media. • The training will take place in an state of the art computer lab where I work. Training Module I. Introduction: Photo Story 3.1 was developed by Microsoft in 2006. The operating system is Microsoft Windows. Photo Story 3 is used as a photo sharing software. Photo Story 3 is a free application that allows anyone to use this program. It allows them to create a show by using your own digital photos. It also allows you to add narration, effects, transition and background music to create a Window Media Video. Once you have finished with creating your show you can present it on Window Media Player. We have a state-of-the-art computer lab that the students and teacher never use because there is not enough time to fit computer time. Right now the students and teachers are very limited in technology. It is sad that the students and teachers have used the same computer programs for many years. The students and teachers should have more knowledge about today’s technology. So I want to create a training for the teachers and paraprofessional on Photo Story 3.1. It is a great program and is also fun to create. I want for the teachers and paraprofessional to learn how to use a different computer program that will help them and also help the students. This training will help the teachers create lesson that are exciting and more colorful. There are students that are visual learners so this students need to see a picture of what they are suppose to do. This program will help the student improve in their grades and in their performance in school.

Instructional Resources: The learners will need : • Computer or lab top • Access to the internet • Download Photo Story 3 Microsoft for Window • Pictures from clip art or own digital photo • Microphone for narrative (PC) • Music for background
Formative Evaluation: • The two strategies that I will use will be the Subject Matter Expert, peer evaluation. • The learners will evaluate each other to see how well they did. • The computer lab teacher will conduct the learners evaluation on the learners projects.
Summary: The teachers and paraprofessional will attend a training on how to use the Photo Story 3. The training will take place on October 25, 2010. They will learn how to create a small video show. The learner will learn how to down load the program to their computer or lab top. They will also learn how to record their voice on the slides and add music, effects, and transition to the slide show. This will help the learners to have more knowledge about technology.
