  1. OPENING

  2. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 • According to God’s standard - Success is: Living Life to the fullest. • God wants you to be successful & blessed

  3. THIS IS YOUR DESTINATION: • JESUS COME SO THAT YOU MAY HAVE FULLLIFE & THAT YOU MAY HAVE IT ABUNDANTLY. • However, there is often a disconnect between where we want to end up (destination) and the path we choose. The Path Principle • Direction determines destination. You will always end up where the path you are on takes you.

  5. Our Study from: Proverbs 7:6-27 • At the window of my house I looked out through the lattice. I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked judgment. Proverbs 7: 6-7 • The young man ignored the principle of the path . . . • Decisions, not intentions, not dreams, not plans, determine your destination.

  6. 8 He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house 9 at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in. • 10 Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostituteand with crafty intent. 11 (She is loud and defiant, and her feet never stay at home; 12 now in the street, now in the squares, at every corner she lurks.) 13 She took hold of him and she kissed him and with a brazen face she said: 14 “I have fellowship offerings at hometodayI fulfilled my vows.

  7. 15 So I came out to meet you; I looked for you and have found you! • 16 I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt. 17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon. 18 Come let’s drink, deep of love until morning; let’s enjoy ourselves with love! • 19 My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey.

  8. 20 He took his purse filled with money and will not be home until full moon.” 21With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. 22 All at once he followed her • 22 All at once he followed her like an ox going to slaughter, • like a deer stepping into a noose 23 till an arrow pierces its liver. • 23 like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life.

  9. Every path has a predetermined destination. • 24 Now then, my sons, listen to me;pay attention to what I say. 25 Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. 26 MANYare the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. 27 Her house is a highwayto the grave, leading down to the chambers of death. (Note: Many & Highway = Culture, Crowds, Normal, Ordinary) • We can’t live with the disconnect that our culture so oftentimes hands us.

  10. “I want to meet a great Christian guy whoʼs really got his act together, so Iʼm
going to go out with whoever asks me if heʼs cute.”
 • “I want a great sex life once Iʼm married, so Iʼm going to practice with the people I date until then.”
 • “I want our family to be a unit, everybody on the same page, looking forward to vacation together, so Iʼm going to work all the time.”
 • “I want my kids to respect me, so Iʼm going to have an affair. ”

  11. “I want my kids to stay away from alcohol, so Iʼm going to drink— responsibly.”
 • “I want to lose weight, so super-size that, would you?”
 • “I donʼt want to live with financial pressure, so Iʼm going to lease a luxury car. ”
 • “I want to know God, so Iʼm not going to read my newspaper.” • “I want to support some charities, so Iʼm going to spend all my money Shopping on myself.” • “I want my children to be brought up with the same Christian values I had, so we are going to miss church and have other activities on Sundays.”

  12. 4Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. 5Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, … 12 Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.13They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land. Psalms 25 • God’s Ways – God’s Path - Show – Teach – Instruct – Choose - prosperity – success – blessings.

  13. “I want” doesn’t get you to your destination. The path you choose to walk down determines your destination. • The issue is not what or who is on the path, but where is the path headed?Nobody gets around the principle of the path. You will eventually end up where the path you are on is taking you.

  14. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrowthe road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14
