That’s the question that we will answer today. So, today we are going to make both Postman and SoapUI compete against each other to find out which tool is better than the other so that you can make a prudent decision and select an API testing tool that is best for you. Protocol Support Protocol Support: : SoapUI supports different types of protocols whereas Postman does not support different types of API protocols. What does this mean? It means that by using SoapUI you can easily test a Soap, REST, GraphQL API. Whereas Postman does not support different API protocols and you can only use it for testing a REST API. Learn to test your Rest API using Postman by enrolling in our Postman Training in Gurgaon. Data Data- -Driven Testing Driven Testing: : SoapUI supports data-driven testing which allows a developer to separate/isolate the test script from the test data and help them in reducing the time required to test an API. However, Postman does not support data-driven testing.

  2. User User- -Friendliness Friendliness: : Both Postman and SoapUI have a very easy-to-use UI and one can easily navigate through both the API testing tools very easily without any issue or problem. However, SoapUI provides drag and drop and point and pick features to its users while Postman does not provide these features to its users. Thus in terms of user-friendliness SoapUI appears to be a better option than Postman. Price Price: : Postman is an open and free-to-use tool. However, if you want to get the most of the tool or want access to advanced features like SSO, reporting, payment options then you will have to purchase the paid version of the tool. Whereas SoapUI is not free to use software and you will have to pay the license fee to use it. The basic plan of SoapUI comes with a price tag of $599 a year. However, you might end up paying a lot more than that if you want to use features like endpoint scanning, CI pipeline integration, command line test, etc. Features and Integration Features and Integration: : Postman tool has very limited features and can be easily integrated with other tools, software, and platforms like Coralogix, DropBox, GitHub, Microsoft teams, etc. Whereas SoapUI provides lots of great features to its users like cloud testing, parallel functional testing, etc. and you can easily integrate it with tools like Maven, HUDSON, JUnit, etc. Want to learn how to integrate Postman with different tools and platforms? Join our Postman Training Institute in Noida today. Conclusion Conclusion: : Both SoapUI and Postman are phenomenal API testing tools and provide lots of great features to their users. But in terms of features and user-friendliness SoapUI appears to be superior to Postman. However, SoapUI is not a free tool and you would have to pay the license fee for using it. Whereas Postman is a freemium tool and despite having very few features it can help you a lot in testing an API. So, if money is not a constraint for you then you should use SoapUI. However, if you don’t want to spend lots of money on an API testing tool then you should use Postman. Both the tools are very amazing and can help you a lot in your work if you are an API tester.
