  2. MCM Special Occasions Preparing for a honeymoon can be overwhelming, especially when wedding planning is front and centre in your mind. Here is a quick list of things to do, when preparing for a honeymoon. Set a budget, search online, and go to a travel agent and find the best and cheapest travel packages available. After all this is your honeymoon you want it to be special but you also don’t want to come back from your honeymoon, and then realise that you are over spent. Plan a head and arrange all your honeymoon plans well in advance, you won’t want to be running around and making travel arrangements so close to your wedding. Make your reservations at least 4 to 6 months ahead of time, to get the most suitable rooms and the best flight times. Check your destination and weather as your want to ensure that the weather is what you are looking for, booking travel out of season could be boring, uninteresting and you will wish that your honeymoon was over. Plan ahead and find out which season is suitable for a great honeymoon. Set realistic expectations of how much you will do and how many sights you will see. The object of a honeymoon is to become even more intimate with your partner... not to see as many tourist traps as possible. Check your passport is still valid before you travel!

One to two weeks before you travel: Confirm luggage weights and sizes with your airline. Take a look at the UK airport baggage restrictions for a guide to what is permitted. Plan your route from home to the airport, ensuring you have all the contact details for the airport hotel or car park you are staying at, and the airline you are flying with. Leave your spare house keys and contact details abroad with a trusted friend or relative. if you have a house alarm, ensure a trusted neighbour has the details or the alarm company if necessary.
