  1. Learn When Pressure Washing is better than Power Washing Summer is certainly fun, but it can be dirty, as pollen, mud, dried grass clippings, mildew, and the greasy film from air pollution can cover everything in no time. But, does that mean you should leave your home dirty? Of course not… and one way to make things better is to hire power washing professionals. These professionals use specialized equipment to produce a pressurized stream of hot water that helps complete big cleaning jobs with utmost ease. There are many amazing benefits associated with power washing – it can help you get rid of mild, mildew, and even weeds from large spaces. However, when you are working on your deck or walkways, you may still be able to get good results from power washing. Even power washers produce a pressurized stream of water, that stream does not release hot water like in case of power washing. Therefore, it is relatively safer to handle it on your own. It implies the fact that if you have a small cleaning job complete and want to try your own luck, using a pressure washer is a much safer option as compared to power washer. However, even if you have decided to use a pressure washer, you need to understand a few basics first. For instance, it is a good idea to start with a lower pressure level. See how it works first and then increase the pressure level. You should also ensure that the nose produces a wide fan – anything around 25 degrees is usually good enough. It is always important to handle everything safely, but you should practice more care when dealing with wrecked surfaces. In this case, it is better to start at 1500psi, and if it does not work, you can easily go up to 2000psi. It is important to point out that different pressure levels will work for different cleaning jobs. For instance, you can easily use an electric pressure washer that produces 1300-1900psi of pressure to clean outdoor furniture, plastic play sets, cars, and small decks. You may require gas-powered pressure washers that produce up to 3100psi of pressure to clean siding, large patios, decks, boats, and fences. Similarly, you may need a pressure washer that produces 4200psi for professional-duty cleaning jobs, such as graffiti removal, fleet maintenance, surface preparation, and paint stripping. While washing, be sure to start at the top of a wall. You will end up spoiling everything if you do not know where to start. Not commencing at the top of a wall would move back into spots you have just washed and that is only going to make things worse. While dealing with siding, it is of immense importance to keep the nozzle about a food away, especially if you are using a higher pressure. You can move the nozzle closer to the surface if you are using lower pressure. Moreover, you should not point up when you wash or else it would send water up into lap siding, which is only going to make your cleaning job harder. Do not hit the windows or doors with the stream or you may damage them. If you cannot take care of all these things, be sure to hire a professional for both pressure washing and power washing.
