SPA Defined • It is a CBA that is re-oriented from its traditional, • legalistic and power-oriented concept to principle- • or interest based negotiation • As a guiding principle, the SPA aims to attain the • company’s vision, mission and goals as defined • together by the partners, in order to satisfy the • needs and aspirations as well as contribute • to the betterment of all the stakeholders of the • company

  3. The SPA is an “open and transparent”relationship nurturedby both parties for years It ismore thana “legal, contractual obligation”; it is a “moral commitment”. It is a product of mutual trust and confidencebuilt and manifestedthrough joint activities It isanchored ona “common VMG” andmade aliveby “shared values”. Characteristics of SPA: The Union’s View To arrive at an SPA, both parties need to shift paradigms
