PLATON is: ●The ONLY EU financed project that targets to support and enhance the participation of innovative European small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in EU 7th Framework programme SSH priority (socio-economic research projects) ● Socio-economic research helps SMEs to spot new business opportunities and avoid threats to their business macro environment
SSH research can have great innovation potential and business impact The themes tackled by the SSH thematic priority offers SME-s thedual opportunity to operate as participants in knowledge creation as members of teams but also as recipients of knowledge putting it in application The research results can let SME-s discover some important keys for their competitiveness; they can become more aware of the internal mechanism (how employees perceive some aspects such as work environment, gender issues, internal procedures, etc) What are the benefits for SME-s? 1/2
The application of some research’s results (i.e. work conditions) in the SME-s can create a better environment and make people more productive Participating in an international project offers the opportunity to form new business partnerships and the knowledge about new markets For (innovative) SMEs SSH projects offer secure opportunities for (technological) development (creation of selfware) What are the benefits for SME-s? 2/2
