Education. • Respiratory Therapist • Education: .Respiratory Therapy • You must complete a training program approved by the Council • on Medical Education of the American Medical Association(AMA) • . Preparation: high school diploma or equivalent level • . Length: Associate’s degree – Community college • (18 - 24months) • Bachelor’s degree - University (4 – year) • *Recommended for supervisory positions. • . Programs: academic and theory courses • Many science-oriented courses including anatomy • and physiology, chemistry, physics, microbiology, • psychology, mathematics • ----- Experience in a medical facility.

  9. Job Duties. • Provide medical care. • Treatment to patients who have lung problems. • They set up, and adjust. • They operate equipment such as: • Oxygen tents, • Incubators, • Iron lungs, • Resuscitators, • Mechanical ventilators, • Aerosol inhalants, • And oxygen tanks

  10. Other information. • Most Respiratory Therapists work at hospitals.
