  1. Tips for Writing Your College Essay As well as showcasing your writing skills, college application essay gives the admission officers clear understanding of whom you are. Try these tips for writing your essay. 1. Start by brainstorming Starting the essay may be a difficult part. Brainstorming about your personality traits and defining your strength is a good place to start. 2. Let your first sketch flow After you have collected your notes, make an outline to manage your essay and decide where you would like your examples to appear. Do not bother about making it perfect. Just get your ideas flowing and your thoughts down on paper.

  2. 3. Expand the essay parts Introduction: Write a paragraph that introduces your essay. Body: Write a paragraph about explaining the main idea with examples. Conclusion: Write a paragraph that summarizes and ends the essay. 4. Be specific Write your essay by focusing how the question relates to your personal qualities and then select a specific angle. Assure that everything you write supports your viewpoint. 5. Be truthful The essay question may ask you about your top quality, or an event that shaped you or the reason for choosing particular college. Never try to write about what the admission officers want to hear and answer the question truthfully. 6. Get feedback Show your sketch to teachers, family or friends .Consider their advice and make changes, but keep your voice. 8. Proofread and make corrections Read your essay to check for spelling and grammatical errors. Better ask someone who hasn't seen it yet to take a look as well. What now?
