  4. Value Proposition • Solve a problem • May be a suite of statements for multiple audiences (varying complexities and lingo) • Use graphics when possible • May include brief evolution of value prop(the story of how it has changed in this class) • May include your original “key insight” • It should takemultiple slides to set up the problem and explain your solution

  5. Value Proposition • #1 Solve a problem • Tell a story • Create a mantra • Use comparisons

  6. Concept Test Results Were you able to validate your value proposition/customer pain through research? • Specific quotes/reactions from interviews • Key takeaways from surveys • List of respondents (perhaps in appendix) • Secondary research about industry or competition that validates customer pain • Should be multiple slides that tell a story toward your Go/No-Go

  7. Customers Can you specifically identify the ideal customer segment? • Barriers to adoption, including feedback from primary research • Ideal customer profile • Clear descriptors or specific firm names • Partnership strategy • 1st pin customer

  8. Industry Analysis/Competition Charts How does your venture/value prop fit into the value network? • Summarizing table(s): • Venture comparison table • Product attribute chart • 2x2 segmentation chart • Other relevant results of secondary research

Market Size and Trends Can you determine that the market is large enough and is attractive? • Your well-defined customer segment(s) (as informed by industry analysis, competitive positioning and feedback from primary research) • TAM (overall, segment) • Comps • Other secondary research about market

  10. Barriers to Entry Can you prevent copycats? • Identify your top 3 strategies to create barriers • IP • Trade Secrets • Partnerships and Exclusive Contracts • Switching Costs • Location, Location, Location • Talent • Network or Critical Mass

  12. Decision: Go/No-Go • Does your team intend to GO forward to LTV III – Business Planning? • Why/why not? Conclusive summary with top takeaways from previous slides that lead to your decision. • Are any teammates dropping out?

Yes = Go • Can you articulate the value your venture will create? • Were you able to validate your value proposition/ customer pain through research? • Can you specifically identify the ideal customer segment? • How does your venture/value prop fit into the value network? • Can you determine that the market is large enough and is attractive? • Can you prevent copycats? No = You got some ‘splaining to do

  14. Razor Format You may use it if you find it helpful Go or No-Go?

  15. Advice • Create a 30+ slide deck and then edit down to 15 slides, putting the rest in appendix • Put everything in the slide deck appendix (this is your only graded deliverable) • List of interviewees • Synopses of key interviews • Key secondary research citations • Any slide that doesn’t make the 15-minute cut • Get credit for your work (even if it doesn’t make the final edit)

  16. More Advice • Communicate your passion! • Spend time making it look good • Use graphics and tables • Practice using “Rehearse Timings” • Practice again • Make sure to save time to practice • Finish final draft by Friday, use the weekend to rehearse • Miss the 10-15 minute window and get an F
