Declaration We, the assembled cemeteries service providers of South Africa, do declare that: • Every person deserves a dignified funeral • Every person deserves a funeral that accords with their religion and culture • Every person deserves access to an affordable funeral And therefore we will strive to: • Consult with community and religious leaders • Put in place pro-poor funeral options • Provide a sustainable, community oriented service • Undertake integrated research and planning • Develop effective financial and management systems • Set up and resource a national body to develop co-ordinated, nation wide guidelines for cemetery and crematoria services
