  30. See Profe Geboy-Helfenstein, Room 272, or Profa. Santiago for approval of community service opportunities.

  31. FYI: • Since there is no money in the budget for the language honor societies, the advisors receive NO monetary compensation for the time spent organizing and carrying out membership, induction and other activities. • Leading these societies are not positions like other Hale club advisors or athletic team coaches. • Therefore, Profe Geboy-Helfenstein and Senora Santiago will occasionally be willing to offer organized group community service activities which occur outside of the normal school day. • However, much of the SERVICE requirement must be initiated and carried out by the students themselves as proof of their leadership abilities. • This leadership is demonstrated in their ability to find a service opportunity which they feel will best serve their future interests using the Spanish Language (preferably) or by assisting those in the local community.

  32. In order to be a member of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, you need to want to serve others.

  33. If you think you may qualify for Spanish NHS (because your semester grades have been consistently highA / B+), please review them & then pass them on to Profe G-H or Señora Santiago.
