  2. Profiel: Streptococcus agalactiae: • Gram-positieve kok • Grijswitte kolonies op bloedagar • Oxydase en katalase negatief • β-hemolytisch (of niet hemolytisch!) • CAMP-positief • …

  3. Situering: Streptococcus agalactiae: • commensaal op slijmvliezen van rectum, vagina…enz. • 20 – 30 % gekoloniseerd • veroorzaakt sepsis en meningitis

  4. Behandeling? • Baby nog niet geboren  intrapartaal penicilline G • Baby is geboren  ampicilline en aminoglycoside • Nog in experimentele fase: vaginale douche op basis van chloorhexidine

  5. Preventie: • 1. Op basis van risicofactoren: • Vroeggeboorte • Koorts tijdens bevalling (+38° C) • Vliezen reeds +18h gebroken • …

  6. Preventie: • 2. Screening naar GBS: • GBS-gevoelig medium: Door specifiek chromogeen substraat ↓ GBS heeft specifieke kleur op bodem

  7. Vergelijken van de 3 bodems: Granada StreptoB ID StrepB Select Biomedics bioMérieux Bio-Rad

  8. Uitvoering:

  9. Bevestiging: dag 1 = positieve groei + dag 2 = positieve groei (rechtstreeks) (aangerijkt) CAMP-test

  10. Bevestiging: Indien CAMP-test negatief  latex-agglutinatie.

  11. Resultaten: Aantal stalen: 174 Aantal positief: 45

  12. Resultaten: Aantal stalen: 174 Aantal positief: 45 Eén opmerking: Granada  geen aanrijking

  13. Resultaten: Tussen 01/01/02 en 31/12/07 Totaal aantal: 5196 stalen Aantal positief: 651 stalen % positief: 12.53% (bron: statistiek AZ St-Lucas) X2 Tijdens vergelijking bodems Totaal aantal: 174 stalen Aantal positief: 45 stalen % positief: 25.90%

  14. Besluit: De StrepB Select bodem na aanrijking is veel gevoeliger dan de andere twee methodes. Het labo schakelt over van Granadabodem  StrepB Select
