  9. Recent Awards and Recognition • Eileen Arnold has been selected as a recipient of the MFESTS’ Charles W. Britzius Distinguished Engineer Award for 2012. • Neill Radke has been selected as a recipient of the MFESTS’ Richard S. Alberg Distinguished Science and Technology Professional Award for 2012. • Both will receive their awards at the 48th Annual Engineer’s Week Awards and Recognition Banquet to be held Friday, February 24th at The Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis. • MFESTS = Minnesota Federation of Engineering, Science, and Technology Societies

Donations • Attendance at our meetings continues to grow…but so does the cost of Pizza • We will continue to have networking time and serve appetizers and soft drinks • We ask that you help us by making a voluntary donation • You decide if and the amount and place it in the gold box (any amount helps) Many thanks, your response to date has been most helpful

Attendance • Why sign in? • For the past several years we have had the chapter incentive program to encourage attendance at our meetings. • For 2011, a $50 gift certificate for BP gasoline will be awarded to every member attending six or more regular meetings or who brings one new member into the chapter. (Note – You must be a member in good standing for the entire year to qualify) • For guests or members attending for the first time, this also insures your notification by email of all subsequent events. BE SURE AND SIGN THE ATTENDANCE LIST! PLEASE WRITE SO WE CAN READ IT!!

  13. Dr. Andrew Drenner Dr. Andrew Drenner, PHD, is Director of Engineering and Robotics Systems Architect at ReconRobotics. He received his BS degree in Computer Science from the U of Northern Iowa in 2001 and both his MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the U of Minnesota in 2009. His dissertation was titled: “A Framework for Distributed Mobile Robotics”. While pursuing his PhD, he was part of a team from the U of Minnesota’s Center for Distributed Robotics which worked on the DARPA “Software for Distributed Robotics” Program as well as several National Science Foundation funded research initiatives.  Dr. Drenner is a founding member of ReconRobotics. He has spent the last 11 years working with robotic systems and has authored or co-authored over 20 articles published in internationally recognized journals, conferences, and books on the topics of miniature robotic systems, distributed robotic teams, sensor networks, and human activities monitoring He has extensive experience in embedded system design, product development, and designing robotic systems to operate in real-world situations. He is also an inventor on 2 issued patents as well as others which are pending. 13

  14. Patrick J. McKinney Patrick J. McKinney has served as the Chief Operating Officer at ReconRobotics since 2007. Prior to ReconRobotics, he was the Vice President and General Manager of the Wafer Handling Business Unit at Entegris, Inc, a leader in materials integrity management products for the semiconductor and data storage market. He has over 24 years of global leadership experience in the high technology industry working for companies such as Intel, Kyocera, Amkor Technology and Entegris. 14
