Step 1 Knowing what subject to use
Subject pronouns Singular Plural • Je - I • Tu - you • Il - he, it • Elle - she, it • On - one • Nous - we • Vous – you, y’all • Ils – they (m) • Elles – they (f)
Step 2 Finding the stem
The Stem • You will take the infinitive of the verb (with the –er) • Then you drop the –er ending which leaves you with the stem of the verb. Ex. Danser = to dance The infinitive of the verb is Dans You will remove the –er to get the stem er Dans
Step 3 Add your endings to the stem
-er verb endings Singular Plural • Je - e • Tu - es • Il - e • Elle - e • On - e • Nous - ons • Vous - ez • Ils - ent • Elles - ent
