Discuss the timeline of the story. • Who does Odysseus leave behind in Ithica? • Why does Telemachus leave his home? • How does King Menelaus know Odysseus? • Who is Calypso? • What god/goddess aids Odysseus? • What sport is Odysseus NOT good at? • Explain how Odysseus escapes from Polyphemus. • How does Circe help Odysseus? • When coming home, how is Odysseus disguised? • Explain the “tournament of axes”? • What does Odysseus make the disloyal maids do once he returns? • How does Penelope really know her husband is home and he is truly her husband?
