Coaching Goals • Using Coaching Teachers in Effective Instruction I selected three major areas to focus on for 2010. • School Improvement • Working with key Stakeholders to improve literacy outcomes for Koori students • Support the implementation of effective literacy intervention processes and programs • Ensuring Koori students ILEP’s (with specific relation to Literacy Learning) are “living documents” which are a true representation of the teaching and learning classroom • Data & Evidence • Data Collection- Collection of Koori Data • Support the implementation of the 6-18 month strategy • Supporting the use of data to differentiate and meet Koori student’s needs in the classroom • Self Improvement • Reading Recovery professional development • Coaching Professional Development • Structuring opportunities to seek feedback • Coaching Goals 2010

  3. School Improvement • Koori Workforce Meeting The Koori team worked in isolation. We now meet regularly and address issues on attendance, well being & transition. • Reading Program- Intervention Established a reciprocal reading program with the Koori Tutor. • ILEP implementation Process, issues and accountability. Data & Evidence • Collection of Data Process: • Location of students- Data, Attendance, WRAP Assessment- Reading Program • Identify teachers for highest impact- majority of students in withdrawal Literacy Program. • Effective reading Instruction with teachers of Literacy- Coaching cycle- plan, observe, debrief. • Professional learning around Independent Reading, Guided Reading & Shared Reading Co-operative Reading Strategies- Literature Circles, Socratic Circles • Supporting implementation of 6-18 month strategy Mapping Tool Use- Using data to support differentiation- interviews with teachers through ILEP process Koorie Data 7-10

Provide learning on the Reading Process to those teachers involved in the coaching cycle Carmsey's Literacy Class
