  3. ReBoot™ ReBoot™ is a statewide, collaborative effort dedicated to actively promoting independence for people with disabilities through Assistive Technology & Computer Recycling. ReBoot™ has placed over 8,640 recycled computer systems with people throughout Georgia, the Southeast, and the United States. ReBoot™ - Georgia’s Computer and AT Reutilization Program

Aimed at meeting the challenges of AT Reuse Acquisition • A response to GA’s disability communities expressed needs and barriers • An envisioned solution for: • transfer & sharing of skills and resource • development of new skills and partners • a foundation for a unified network • growing capacity and sustainability

Technology End of Life Program • Recycling of non-refurbished items • Recycler must be EPA registered, ISO 9001 and 14001 compliant • All recycled items are taken down to their lowest metal or material content • Nothing goes to a landfill; adhere to evergreen policies • http://www.epa.gov/wastewise/pubs/wwupda14.txt

Donation Acceptance • Walk Ins & Bulk Pickups (10 or more items) • Recycling fees ($10) assist with recycling, handling cost, refurbishment, and sustainability • Donors are assured that hard drives are wiped by Dept of Defense software (Certificate of Wiping) or shredded through a Recycler (Certificate of Destruction)
