Membrane filtration is one of the new technologies in water filtration. Parasites like Giardia and Cryptosporidium that are resistant to chlorine as well as bacteria are removed by membrane filtration. For locales that have to treat saltwater, membrane filtration is an excellent water filtration material. Some of these include Texas, Florida, and California.
