She received her first guitar at age 13 and began writing her own songs, eventually joining the all-girl band The Runaways in 1975. Jett later formed The Blackhearts in 1980, with their hit song "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" becoming an anthem for generations.   2. Early Life • Born Joan Marie Larkin • Her Birthday is September 22,1958 • Born in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania

  3. Music • Got her first guitar when she was 13 years old for Christmas • Started to write her own songs • Soon after her and her family moved to California where she met her idol Susi Quatro. • Susi was one of the first female rock musicians to play in instrument on stage

  4. The Runaways • In 1975 Joan joined a band called The Runaways • Other members included Cherie Currie, Lita Ford, Sandy West and Jackie Fox. • Lita Ford was also a famous guitarist • “Cherry Bomb” and “School Days” are two popular songs by them.

  5. The Blackhearts • The Blackhearts began in 1980 • Popular song is “I Love Rock and Roll” • Other members include Tommy Price and Dougie Needles

  6. Upcoming Concerts • Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are playing Minnesota and Nevada on March 17th and 24th • They will also being doing shows in Chile and Brazil
