  4. Prospects • What is IET? • How is it different from CS, CE, MIS? • Is the program accredited? • Will the BIET prepare me for graduate school? • I have or an working on an AA, not an AS. What about me? • Can I get financial aid? BIET Advising

Applicant / New Admit • What transfer credit? • Everything, as long as it is from a regionally accredited college or university • Need to evaluate coursework from transcript • Banner if application is complete • Otherwise have student provide a copy, but it is not official • Use advising spreadsheet BIET Advising

  6. Non-AS Transfers • What is the Block Credit • Any 27 technical credits from an AS program • Suggesting change to require it come from a single program for focus • Do not count most basic courses like basic computer use BIET Advising

  7. Current Students • Review transcript to see what is done • Recommend next courses to take • Deal with holds • Advise students at risk • Probation or GPA near 2.0 BIET Advising

  8. Transient Student Form • Required each term for admitted student taking courses at community college or elsewhere • Student must first be registered at FAU • Electronic form at www.facts.org BIET Advising
