Graphic Novel Basics • Comics are serials – 30 or so pages, monthly with long story arcs • Graphic Novels are stories told primarily through illustrations, some are compellations of a story arc of a particular comic (Amazing Spider Man) most are independent stories that can be serials but are much longer in each book • Anime – a specific art style from Japan. Cell animation and a very specific look – often read back to front and right to left.
