Rhea felt it her duty to defeat Cronus. A dependent clause is a group of words that has a subject and verb but cannot stand alone as a sentence. (it is also referred to as a subordinate clause.) Examples: Whereas Poseidon is the god of the sea Because he abused the power given to him
