  2. A teenage girl is babysitting two children at night time when the parents are off at a party.

  3. The children have been put to bed upstairs and the babysitter is downstairs, doing her homework .

  4. The phone rings. she picks up the phone and hears on the other end of the line someone breathing heavily.

  5. She at first thinks the call is a practical joke, but as she prepares to hang up, a sinister voice asks her to "check the children."

  6. When she asks who it is, the caller hangs up.

  7. Rather than checking on the children, the teenage girl decides to ignore the call and goes back to doing her homework.

  8. The stranger calls back several times, each time becoming more aggressive.

  9. Eventually the girl becomes worried and calls the police, who ask her to wait for the man to call again, so that they can trace the call.

  10. When he calls again, she manages to keep him talking for a few minutes and, when the police call back, they tell her that the call is coming from a second line inside the house.

  11. As she runs to the door she sees a man running down the stairs, and just manages to escape.

  12. She runs into the police after opening the front door, who quickly arrest the man. They then search upstairs and find out that he had already killed the children. He was waiting for the girl to come upstairs.
