Government • Sylosia was ruled by a king • The King would make up laws and declare war • The Assembly would pass laws • The Assembly was made up of 150 men over the age of 20 • You must have permission of the King to sail • You must own land and be willing to go in war to be a citizen • The ephors of ten managers educate and support young • A Democratic constitution broke the power of the rich

Laws • If caught sailing without permission, you will be put in jail for six months • If you are asked to go to war and or disobey the kings orders, you will be hung • If you kill one of your fellow citizens, you will go to jail for one year and then hung • Must give ten percent traded goods to the king

  4. War/Army • You will start to train for the army ate the age of eight • When you are eighteen years old you must join the army • When you are at the age of forty-five, you have the option to drop out • Aristocrats trained for the army • Soldiers surround the perimeter of the island at all times • The army must be armed and ready to fight
