  3. Funky FIt • Thursday, November 1st • Interest Meeting in room 921 from 3-4 p.m. • Funky Fit is an hour-long hip hop aerobics class and will be free for students, staff, and the West Meck Community!

  4. D.E.C.A. Fundraiser • Give Us $5 and we’ll give you $5!! $5 off at Belk’s that is!! • Help support DECA with our $5 for $5 Charity Day event at Belk’s. • Coupon is good for November 3rd, 6-10 a.m. at any Belk’s Department Store. • Get yours from any DECA member, Ms. Howard or Ms. Reynolds!

  9. All Swimmers • All Paperwork Due immediately. • Order for Swim suits and uniforms need to be handed in. • Waiver fees must be paid by Wed, Oct. 31st. • All Members should meet at the bus in the back of the school by the tennis courts to attend practice.

  11. Prom Committee • November 13th • We will be meeting with the DJ from Rave Pro and continuing to discuss decorations and the theme. Please be sure you are present at meetings if you want the benefits.

  12. Anime Club • Anime club meets every Wednesday!! • Room 828 2:30 - 4pm, please have a ride. Anime club is still accepting members, if you had missed out on club rush then you can still join if you're an anime lover or just want to draw, even if you don't, you can learn

  13. Softball • If you are interested in being on the Spring 2013 Softball Team please see Ms. Autry in the Gym!

  14. Cheerleading Tryouts • Cheerleading tryouts for basketball season will be open for J.V. & Varsity teams. • Tryouts have been extended through November 2nd. • Final selection day will be on November 2nd. • For more info please see Ms. Houston or Ms. Wynn in the Freshmen Academy rooms 804 + 805.

  16. OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS? Do you have overdue library items? You need to bring them back so that others may enjoy them. NO fines if you bring the items back.

  17. Naiya Smith – Published WM Author • Teenage years can be hard and confusing. With a mother that is sick and boyfriends that only cause problems. Sixteen- year-old Niona is living proof of it. Decisions come with life and it influences everyone and everything around you. See how Niona handles her decisions with the life she's given. Naiya Smith is a high school sophomore at West Meck High. She enjoys cheering for her school, hanging with friends and family, and most of all writing.

  18. Executive Council Meeting The regular meeting dates have been set for the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month.

  19. College and Career Center • Students interested in taking the ASVAB (Military Test) sign up with Ms.Pendergrass in the college & career center located in the media center.

  20. AVID MANTRA I WILL STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN ALL THAT I DO. THERE IS NO PLATEAU THAT I CAN NOT REACH, NO GOAL THAT I CAN’T ACCOMPLISH; BECAUSE I AM AN ACHIVER. “WITHOUT STRUGGLE, THERE IS NO PROGRESS” I WILL PREVAIL.
