  4. Laptops • Contract Form • Required to be carried in padded case • Will be provided • No books, etc may be carried in padded case • No Loaners! • Damage Responsibility

  5. Lockers and Locks • Boys and Girls lockers in separate location • Lock Rental $5/year • Lockers open • Before School • Lunch • During PE • After School • NO DECORATING –stickers, etc

Schedules • Drop off and pick up • Car riders are to be dropped off and picked up on Nordberg Ave. • Car riders may not be dropped off or picked up at the front of the school. • Arrival procedure • Locker • Breakfast • Reporting Room • 1st two days – 6th (MPR), 7th (iCafe), 8th (Engineering) • Normally – report to first class of the day or designated area directed by that teacher

  11. Edmodo What is Edmodo?  Edmodo is an online networking application for teachers and students. Think Facebook, but in a safe and controlled environment appropriate for school.  Edmodo is primarily a tool for within-class communication, but it also provides several ways for teachers to connect with other teachers.  Over 500,000 students are using Edmodo worldwide.  Edmodo is free Why use Edmodo? Build an online learning conversation with your class about your subject.  Edmodo makes using the DER laptops easier by providing simple ways to share files and communicate online.  Encourage a peer-learning and peer-support environment – both in the classroom and online.  Students enjoy using Edmodo.

Edmodo Student Sign Up • If you have never created an Edmodo Account, you can create a new Student Account by following the steps below: • Obtain a 6-digit Group Code from your teacher. • Go to www.edmodo.comand click "Students." • Fill out the registration form with the Group Code, a unique username, and password. An email address is not required to sign up for a Student Account.  • Select the “Sign up” button to complete the sign up process. You will then see the Group your teacher created in the left side panel of your account.  • Note: You only need one Student Account to join all your Groups!

New STEMM Partnership • Band/Music Partnership with Lewis School • Open to students who participated in 5th grade band last year • Allow students who wish to continue instrumental music studies in order to prepare for high school band • Same curriculum and standards as students currently enrolled in band at Lewis. • Performance opportunities with Lewis Bands • Program offered only by Lewis, no other middle school is taking part in this program. • Please do not contact other middle school band programs. • If interested, there will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00pm in the Lewis Band Room. • Contact Mr. Wilson at Lewis School • Michael.Wilson@mail.Okaloosa.k12.fl.us or the band room at 833-4290
